Teaching Plan(8A Unit4 Integrated Skills) Designed by Wang Xiaofei i. Teaching aims: 1. To grasp some useful words about making a fruit salad: cream, sauce, ham, grape. strawberries 2. To get useful information from listening materials and talk about how to make a fruit salad (语言技能) 3. To facilitate their autonomy and cooperative spirit in learning(学习策略) 4. To increase their awareness of doing things by themselves r as well as develop their love for life(情感态度) ii. Important &difficult area: The developing & promoting of students’ listening and speaking skills iii. Teaching procedures: Step 1. Warm up& Free talk Play a guessing game and have a free talk. Purpose of my design: Try to attract students’ attention. Step 2. Listen to A1: How to make a fruit salad. 1. Predict before listening. 2. Listen A and check the answers. 3. Further understanding of listening material. Purpose of my design: Enable students to understand the given material better using different listening skills. Step 3. A2 1. Have a discussion. Talk about each picture and put them into right order. 2. Watch a silent short video and guess what she is doing and talking about with key words. Step 4. Listen to A3 1. Have a discussion and give some good advice for making a fruit salad. 2. Tips for listening. 3. Listen A3 and check the answers. 4. Retell the tips for making a fruit salad. Purpose of my design: Enable students to understand the given material better using different listening skills. Step 5. Speak up 1. Listen and answer 2. Read and make a new dialogue Purpose of my design: “Task-based” teaching method is used here to develop the students’ ability of communication and also their ability of co-operation will be well trained. Students will be able to understand the DIY steps as well as tips and can make a new dialogue with given pattern. Step 6. Homework 1. Find out more works about DIY around you. 2. Make a fruit salad or sandwiches for your parents tonight. Purpose of my design: This content is an extension of the previous lesson, to meet the needs of increasing communicating demand of some students.
